Waterfront Deck, Siding, and Outdoor Living Project
This waterfront project combined deck construction, vinyl siding replacement, and outdoor living space improvements into a comprehensive exterior renovation. Waterfront homes in southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island face accelerated weathering compared to inland properties. Salt air, higher humidity, and stronger winds break down exterior materials faster, making quality materials and proper installation even more critical.
We used pressure treated lumber rated for ground contact on the structural elements closest to the water, AZEK PVC trim at all exposed horizontal surfaces to prevent moisture absorption, and premium vinyl siding products that are warranted specifically for coastal applications. Every fastener was stainless steel to prevent corrosion-driven staining on the new surfaces.
